Waterloo Police Chief Leibold Announces Retirement

Retirement Effective June 21st

Waterloo Police Chief Joe Leibold has announced he’s retiring this summer.  Chief Leibold has been with the department for 34 years, and said he’s been honored to work with the officers, other city departments and elected officials in various capacities throughout his career.  In a release today, Leibold says he’ll remain focused on the day to day operations of the department until his last day, which will be June 21st. The City is considering the best process to search for his replacement and will announce the plans once decided upon.
