The WNBA Draft is tonight and Iowa State’s Ashley Joens and Stephanie Soares are projected to be taken in the top-10.
Joens finished her Iowa State career with more than 3,000 points and 1,300 rebounds. She was a three-time Cheryl Miller Award winner as the country’s top small forward.
Soares, a 6-foot-6-inch center, was a two-time NAIA Player of the Year. In her only season at Iowa State she was off to a strong start but tore her ACL in January and was denied an extra year of eligibility. She isn’t expected to play in her rookie season in the WNBA.
The WNBA Draft begins at 6 tonight and airs on ESPN.
