Firefighters in Cedar Falls responded to a hay bale fire Thursday night. Black Hawk County Dispatch received a call for a field fire shortly after 10:00 PM Thursday night near the intersection of Dunkerton Road and Center Street in northern Cedar Falls. First responders at the scene found a large fire coming from 12 hay bales and a nearby fence row. Firefighters put out the flames before it could reach any nearby buildings. No injuries were reported and no word yet on what may have caused the fire.
