We now know the name of a man whose body was discovered on a sandbar on the Cedar River last week. The body of 23-year old Daniel Van Brocklin of Raymond was found last Sunday. Officials say he may have tripped and fell into a bonfire at his campsite. The State Medical Examiner’s Office has conducted an initial autopsy on Van Brocklin, but it could be another 6-8 weeks before any official cause of death can be established.
