Hundreds of local volunteers were honored for their service yesterday in Cedar Falls as part of the 39th Governor’s Volunteer Awards, coordinated by Volunteer Iowa. Individual honorees as well as volunteer groups from 19 counties in the northeast region were honored, some had just completed their first year of volunteering on up to one individual who has been volunteering for 50 years. Longtime community leader Bruce Clark of Waterloo was one of the honored volunteers.
Clark says his volunteer work has been a rewarding experience.
