Body Recovered from Cedar River

A body was recovered from the Cedar River in Waterloo on Monday. Waterloo Fire Rescue firefighters had continued a search for a man who had walked into the Cedar River Friday night and floated away around the time the My Waterloo Days parade began. A team of firefighters eventually found the body around 2:15PM, along the river downstream, as it was snagged on some vegetation away from the Hawthorne Avenue boat docks. The man has not been identified, and police are reaching out for assistance from anyone who might know him.
