Last night, the Cedar Falls City Council voted 5-1 on a second reading toward ending a ban on setting off fireworks in the city, and establishing a three day window on private property between July 3rd and July 5th similar to the ordinance utilized in Waterloo. Because the measure needed a unanimous aye vote, the third and final reading won’t be held until the council’s next meeting on June 6th. Councilman Daryl Kruse cast the lone no vote.
