Fishermen Rescued from Cedar River in Waterloo

Two fishermen were rescued from the Cedar River in Waterloo Thursday morning.  Emergency crews responded to the area near 6th Street and the railroad bridge around 9:30AM. Both unidentified fishermen were uninjured after the boat overturned in the water. It’s unclear what led up to the rescue at this time, but one was able to climb out of the river on his own. Neither were wearing life jackets at the time, but one of the men said afterward, he plans to do so next time he’s out on the water.
