An arrest has been made in connection with a home invasion and assault in the College Hill area of Cedar Falls. 25-year old Asante Walker-Garcia of North Liberty was arrested in North Liberty without incident on Friday. He was taken into custody and is now in the Black Hawk County Jail. He has been charged with 1st degree burglary, which is a Class B Felony.   The incident occurred in the early morning hours of April 10th.  At around 3:00AM, police were dispatched to the 1900 block of College Street. The report was for a burglary to an apartment where a male subject had entered the residence through an unlocked window on the first floor.   The lone resident was seriously assaulted, and the suspect fled on foot with items from the residence.  Officers were called to the scene after the male suspect had fled the area.  Surveillance cameras identified a man walking in the area matching the description of Walker.  Investigators with Cedar Falls Police were assisted in the investigation and arrest by Waterloo Police, Iowa City Police, the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, the University of Northern Iowa Police, Cedar Valley CrimeStoppers, Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation, and the State of Iowa Criminalistic and Forensic Labs.
