Cedar Falls, Sumner-Fredericksburg, Grundy Center & Nashua-Plainfield girls golf teams qualify for State Meet

Advancement to the girls State Golf Meet was on the line last night as Regional Meets took place yesterday in all four classes. The top two teams and the top six individuals in each region advance to State.

Here’s how the Metro schools fared… 

In Class 4A, Cedar Falls qualified for State as the runner-up at the Regional held in Peosta. Western Dubuque won the meet with a 320, while the Tigers shot a 339.  The Tigers were led by Molly Ratchford who finished 3rd with a 76. Cedar Falls’ qualification for the State Meet is its ninth consecutive.

In a Class 4A Regional held at Irv Warren, Waterloo West placed 4th.

Waterloo Columbus’ Grace Berg competed individually at a Class 2A Regional in Anamosa, but finished tied for 9th, 13 strokes behind the leader.

Other area teams that qualified for the State Meet include Sumner-Fredericksburg in Class 2A and Grundy Center and Nashua-Plainfield in Class 1A.
