A fire this weekend destroyed a house in Evansdale. Firefighters were called to the one-story home on East End Ave., between Truman and Marshall Avenues, just after 1:00AM Saturday. The house was completely engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. The house had been vacant but fire officials said that squatters had been staying in the home. The fire is being deemed “suspicious”, but the cause hasn’t been determined. The State Fire Marshal is being called in to investigate.
