Fire Damages Cedar Falls Home; Cat Revived

A fire early Monday morning caused significant damage to a Cedar Falls home. A neighbor reported the fire just after 12:30AM at 2204 Victory Drive in Cedar Falls, seeing large flames coming from the kitchen area.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find fire in the east side of the home and heavy black smoke pouring from the front door and roof area.  Firefighters put out the fire and found an unresponsive cat during the search of the home. Paramedics and firefighters were able to revive the cat and it was turned over to Animal Control for treatment.  There was no one at home at the time of the fire.  There was significant fire damage on the first floor and heavy smoke damage throughout the entire home.  The cause of the fire is unknown and is remains under investigation.
