Last night, the Cedar Falls City Council voted 4-2 in favor of plans to reconstructing Main Street from W. Sixth Street to Seerley Boulevard. Cost of the project is estimated around $22 million and includes roundabouts at W. 12th, and W. 18th Streets and at Seerley. Work on the project will begin next year.
In addition, the council voted unanimously to approve Mark Howard as the new Cedar Falls police chief. He had been acting chief since this spring. Just prior to taking the vote, Mayor Rob Green had this to say about the new police chief.
