Motorcyclist Hurt in Cedar Falls Crash

One person was seriously injured after a motorcyclist hit the rear of a car ahead of him in Cedar Falls on Saturday morning. Cedar Falls Police say just before 10:40AM, officers, Cedar Falls Fire Rescue and MercyOne Paramedics were sent to Viking Rd, just east of the intersection with Hudson Rd on a report of a traffic collision involving a car and a motorcycle.  A 50-year old man from Missouri was driving his motorcycle westbound on Viking Road when a car ahead slowed to make a left turn into Prairie Lakes Park and the bike hit the car. The motorcyclist was transported to MercyOne in Waterloo with life-threatening injuries.  The occupants of the vehicle were not hurt.  The incident remains under investigation and names of the involved parties will be released at a later date.
